Legal assistance

Unite’s position was that a member must have 13 weeks membership before they are eligible for legal assistance in respect of an employment matter. The General Secretary has decided to reduce this to 4 weeks continuous membership after which a member becomes eligible for legal services relating to employment and other legal matters. Such a reduction does not, however, cover existing employment issues that arose before the member joined Unite.
